The International Student Summit 2022

In a pathbreaking initiative, I was a panelist at a summit organized by Sheridan College and the City of Brampton, and shared my story to create a deeper understanding of international students’ lived experiences in Canada. The in-person audience of over 200 comprised members of the federal, provincial, and municipal governments, academic researchers, postsecondary administrators, and community agency leaders: many of them with the power, the responsibility, and the learning to bring a change.

Student Housing Challenges

In a recent interview with Brampton Guardian, I spoke to the common challenges faced by students in the midst of a housing crisis in Canada, especially GTA and what resources and services our team at Sheridan has been providing to help students.

Immigration Policies & Challenges

I have always believed that Canada’s immigration system needs a major reform. We, as a country, can do so much better with our immigration policies and attract the cream of the world here. In discussion with the former immigration minister, Marc Miller, I spoke about my aspirations and dreams that brought me to Canada, how I fell in love with this country and what hopes I have for my future as well as the future of this country.

Since then, I have interviewed for many different news outlets such as Toronto.com, Penticton Herald, Milton Reporter, InSauga, Brampton Guardian, etc. and expressed my viewpoints and personal experiences as I navigated the process of becoming a permanent resident of Canada.
