I represent an intersectionality where dreams of most women go as far as getting a permanent residency, settling in and starting a family. Because most haven’t seen any other directions to this story. Because most get sucked into the systemic, cultural, gendered barriers. I want to show them a different side to this story. I want these young international students and women to know that we can write different stories that are rooted in our beliefs and dreams. That we don’t need to follow the same path that we have been believing is written for us. We can change the course of how our previous generations have sacrificed and adjusted. We can empower each other and dare to do things that make us happy and content.

Leadership & Learning

I’ve always believed that leadership begins with recognizing a gap and being bold enough to do something about it.
I want to shift the narrative from survival to sovereignty where South Asian girls don’t just succeed in spite of the systems stacked against them, but thrive because they had people who believed in their power.

I want to tell every South Asian girl who looks like me, who comes from where I come from, that her leadership matters, her dreams matter and she matters, even if she is not born and brought up in this country.
